Meet the founders

Anne Marie Brown, CEO
​

Anne Marie grew up in the hospitality industry as part of family-owned hotel company, Outrigger Hotels.

​

She has been in the hospitality industry for 13 years, working for several startups in the luxury destination club space. She began her career at Exclusive Resorts and founded the Experiences Department at Inspirato, developing a portfolio of 11M annually in small group journeys, independent travel, and cruise charters.

 

She is an independent Virtuoso agent and owns a hospitality consulting company, AM Brown Travel.

 

She holds a BA in English from Colorado College and an MBA from the Darden School of Business at University of Virginia.

Matthew Brown, President

Matthew Brown has been working in the investment industry for over 10 years. Previously he was a Managing Director at Oppenheimer Funds prior to their acquisition by Invesco. His background is in the family office and private client investment space working with clients on due diligence and governance.

 

He is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA). He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Colorado in Boulder.

Sid Pailla, Product Development

Sid Pailla is Itinerate’s Product Development Officer. Sid is also the CEO and Founder of Sunny Day Fund, a Fintech / HRtech startup that works with employers to help employees achieve their personal financial goals and build greater stability. He is currently on sabbatical from Accenture Strategy, where he consults on M&A and technology strategy for C-suite clients.

 

Sid received his PhD in Systems Engineering and MBA from the Darden School of Business, both at the University of Virginia. He currently lives in the DC area with his wife.

Why did we develop Itinerate?

 

We developed Itinerate because, as a professional travel planner, Anne Marie was frustrated with the current travel planning process. It is difficult to find in-country suppliers and most collaboration on client itineraries occurs over email, which means waiting for answers from different time zones. An average booking can take weeks and hundreds of emails to close.

 

Anne Marie wanted to create a system where travel advisors could self-serve for some questions, such as pricing and availability of activities, and suppliers could cut down on the administrative work of answering all those advisor emails. 

​

The idea behind Itinerate was to have one source of truth of a client's proposal process - a single platform where all the versions of a proposal could be found, along with all the communication and payments for that trip.

 

We also wanted to provide a platform for smaller suppliers to connect with the travel advisor network.
